Getting foods tested

Hi, my Nut allergic DD had a strong reaction to a pack of seeded crackers from Aldi which we suspect have undeclared ingredients or traces of nuts. DD is ok now thankfully but
does anybody know what the correct way of getting it tested and to ensure alerting the provider or others to the danger?

Maybe it is a new reaction to one of the seeds rather than hidden nuts

Thank pixie, She's normally ok with seeds and sesame, so we didn't think it was that. However will mention to consultant at next appt to investigate also. Just wanted to alert correct people to look into incase it needed to be recalled due to packaging errors.

Mint, we have only ever had our ana type reactions to cross contaminated products. Unfortunately, it's a fact of life, and it's not legally required to declare possible cross contaminations. Having said that, it's worth getting in touch with the makers to alert them to the possibility. I've several times found "oat and raisin" cookies in tesco which are actually hazelnut and chocolate... they seem to have pulled them from the bakery shelves (the hazelnut ones) after i pointed out to the manager for the 3rd time they were mislabelled and on sale...

Seeds are cross contaminated with nuts.

Was there a warning on the packet?

MintTpls · 23/02/2016 15:53

Nope, allergen warnings re milk, wheat etc. Even a May contains trace warning about sesame but nothing about nuts anywhere.
