coeliac dinner party ideas

We've invited 3 couples for dinner and just found out one of the partners has coeliacs. I've never catered for anyone with this before and am really nervous about what is primarily safe for her but also mindful of making a tasty meal. This is quite a casual meal so would have done something like big anti-pasti or sushi sharing platter followed by a curry or casserole - something made in advance that we just keep in the oven & serve.

Coeliac cooking really isn't bad, so long as you avoid bread, pasta and pastry. Curry or sushi should both be ok, as they wouldn't usually have wheat or gluten in them. You can check the labels if you use any jar sauce, or just shop from the free-from aisle if you need any pre-made sauces.

Meat-based casseroles with veg are fine too. (Maybe not sausage, as many of those have gluten / wheat in as filler).

For pudding, you can do ice cream, eton mess, chocolate mousse and things like that.

Sushi is fine, just use gf soy sauce which is widely available, curries are also great you can even get gf naans from most supermarkets, all pataks products are gf if that helps you

Sushi and then curry sounds great to me (am coeliac). Get some tamari to offer instead of regular soy sauce with the sushi, and some gf naan to go with the curry and you are onto a winner Smile.

Fantastic thank you all Smile
