Alternative to soy sauce?

Just that really, dd is allergic and I was wondering what, if anything, anyone else uses in it's place. I know it's bad salt wise but I use it sparingly so not sure if it will even be missed in cooking if I just leave it out altogether.

Is it the soy or the wheat she is allergic to?
Tamari is wheat free or coconut aminos is a soy free alternative.

in use tamari. it's not quite as strong as normal soy sauce but a decent alternative.

Anotherday it's the soy, it started off as just a dairy allergy but after we tried introducing milk she seemed to start having a reaction against soy too. Shame because she likes noodle dishes and it all seems a bit bland without.

Thank you both, is tamari easy to find, most places near us are a bit limited in variety, we're not exactly rural but it does feel a bit cut off here sometimes when I visit dm and see what the supermarkets near her have to offer.

Tamari is soy, so not an alternative. You can get coconut aminos from Amazon (and probably other on line specialist retailers)?

You can but coconut aminos in Planet Organic and Whole Foods if you live in London. They are often out of stock though.

Another that'll teach me to read properly. Blush

Thanks wiifitmama I'll have a look around.

Definitely try coconut aminos, the brand is coconut secret. It's a bit sweeter tha tamari or soy sauce but works pretty well
