Dairy trial - possible reaction?

DD (now 13 months) has been on Neocate since 3 months due to reflux and wind. We have never been entirely sure if there was a dairy intolerance (she has tested negative to allergy) as the reflux carried on, though wind got better.

We tried adding cheese to a pasta sauce yesterday for the first time. No signs of it making the reflux worse or anything else but this morning she has spots in nappy area (not quiet the same as a normal nappy rash), on one ankle, and a few on her legs.

Does this sound like a likely reaction to the dairy? Would you stop again and try again once it has cleared just to be sure? Its a big disappointment as she is an extremely fussy eater and this would have made things easier.

thanks alot
alice

thanks - i have been hoping it is something else (its odd as she is very subdued and not happy today) and its just a coincidence, but i know thats unlikely

From peoples experience is there any point trying goats or sheeps produce?

I think it could be, could you go dairy free again and try again in two weeks? if it hapens again, you will know.

As for alternative milks, well it all depend on how sensitive your child is. Mine is as allergic to goat's/sheep's milk as to cow's.

Why do you want to stop Neocate? if she is allergic to milk and is already neocate I would keep in it. (I would fear not be able to go back to it in case the other milks are not good for her. We have tried to use NEocate with DS but it's old to accept the flavour and now, with the new banana one that is not bad... he hates bananas too! [argh!}
