DS hayfever treatments

DS' (10) symptoms are confined to heavy congestion and bunged up nose.

He has been on a prescribed nasal spray for about a month but it doesn't seem to be making much difference. Always worse at night and is massively disturbing his sleep so the poor boy is exhausted.

I am due to see GP again next week but in meantime would there be any harm in giving him Piriton or similar??

Piriton is fine to use for hayfever. You can also get loratadine over the counter which is what ds is always prescribed.
