Dairy allergy in 7mo ds

Does anyone have any experience with a baby with dairy allergy? Ds2 has been up all night itching, wheezing and crying. He's made his skin bleed and I've finally thrown in my obstinate towell and conceeded that he may have a cows milk allergy.

We live on a dairy farm so this is somewhat ironic.

So... Soya formula, hypoallergenic... goats milk??

He's 7 months old and refusing to eat any solid other than bananas so he need the vitamin top up from a formula... help???

Off to see docs this morning, but would like some advice other than 'here's some scary cream with fightening ingredients, shove that on him until his skin goes bright red and blisters and we'll see you in a month'

Have tried everything topical- aveeno, oliatum, some horrible stuff from the docs that I can't even pronouonce... Meal's Yard Baby balm eases the soreness but does not ease the cause...

at wits end.

he had three pairs of socks over his hands last night and still spent all night trying to scratch himself raw!!

Any advice?

*Neals Yard baby Balm.

Also- I cannot breastfeed, so I'm afraid that is not a solution for us.

The gp should prescribe a dairy free formula (soya is not normally first choice)

Agree, don't go down the soya route as 50% of people who react to cow's milk protein also react to soya. It's also not advised for male babies especially.

Your GP should prescribe a dairy free formula and refer you to a Paed and a Paed Dietician.
