blocked ears?

I've just (last week) been diagnosed as having asthma linked to allergies. I've just developed what I can only described as an ear that feels like a nose does when it's blocked. It doesn't hurt, it's just uncomfortable, particularly if I lie on it. Pulling my ear away from my head relieves the discomfort as it feels like the bit in my ear isn't glued together and I can hear properly. I'm sceptical about it being related to allergies.
Any ideas?

Why sceptical?

I didn't think pain just in my right ear could be allergy related, I am sceptical because we have no family history of Allergies and I thought at nearly forty I'd know by now if I had asthma etc

I never had allergies when I was younger but developed eczema and hay fever in my 20s and no asthma in my 40s. I've have always had CMPI though. If it helps, my right ear is permanently blocked too Smile
