burning duvet

had a nasty experience a few weeks ago.
just wondering if anyone has had a similar one.

we brought a new 15 tog duvet.
after 48 hours I was in serious pain, mainly in my legs, almost called an ambulance. I thought the duvet was maybe too heavy for me, so my dh said he would swap duvets.

after using the new duvet for 24 hours my dh said he felt in pain, the same as myself.

we investigated the problem and realised that as soon as I didn't use the new duvet, I was instantly fine again, yet as soon as dh used it, he was really bad.
*we felt the duvet was to blame, and as we threw it out, we felt burning in our hands/face and head.

within 48 hours of using the new duvet my dh was rushed to hospital with serious chest pains.
I wish we had kept the duvet...made in china... but in desperation threw it out.
just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Not sure that the country of origin is useful. The make or composition may provide more clues?
I have never had an experience like the one you describe.

What brand was it and what shop was is bought? You need to report this to them.

this was posted a little while ago by someone else. remarkably similar story.

"just before last Christmas, I brought a new 13.5 tog duvet.
it was in a sale and the price too good to be true.

anyway, after just two nights, I had dreadful pains in my lower body ,chest pains, I could hardly walk and felt like i was 130 years old.(previously healthy)

I thought it might be because the duvet was "heavy"

my dh, who sleeps in a different room...sound effects, snoring etc.....very kindly offered to swap my new duvet for his new duvet.

within similar time frame, 2/3/4/ nights, my dh was also experiencing chest pains, I eventually called for an ambulance and he is diagnosed as having a heart attack.

it seems that it is too much of a coincidence that we both suffered extreme pain .
the duvet burned our skin and smelt terribly.
sadly it was so vile, that I bagged up the offending duvet and threw it away.

just wondering if anyone else have similar experiences."
