Wheat free base for cheesecake?

CarbeDiem · 22/12/2014 18:39

Dh is craving a cheesecake but can't eat wheat.
I'm thinking a biscuit type base maybe using oats, coconut, honey and butter.
Does anyone have any better suggestions please?

buy gluten free digestive biscuits? They sell them in Tesco and probably other plcaes too

I just use wheat free digestives (all the big supermarkets do them) smashed up with butter and chilled.

I use kent and fraser gluten free ginger biscuits crushed and mixed with melted butter you could also use the gluten free sweet oat biscuits

A flapjack style base is amazing!

Thanks for the replies.
I'm not in the UK and unfortunately the FreeFrom and gluten free stuff is absolutely shite and close to non existent here.
Think I'll go for a flapjack type and add nuts in too.

Merry Christmas X
