I gave my ds 2.5, grapes this afternoon for the first time in quite a long time, he's never had any problem with them in the past but I didn't get to his full nappy immediately (we were at the park so poor lad was in it for 45 mins maybe before I noticed. By the time I got him to bed this evening his bottom and front parts were so sore, he had sores all over his cheeks, it was awful, has anyone experienced a simular reaction with their child?

This has happened to my son regularly, even if I changed his pooey nappy straight away. I'm sure it's because of the fruit acid rather than an actual allergy. I think even if your son hadn't had grapes, his bottom would have been a bit sore just because of the damp poo next to his skin (not your fault 'cause you were in the park!) I just put on a layer of zinc and castor oil cream afterweards and it's usually gone the next day. It was happening a lot when I gave him strawberries so I've stopped giving them to him for a while. I try to not give him grapes and very acid fruit everyday and alternate it instead. But maybe see your doctor if it keeps happening - he could have an intolerance. My son sometimes got big welts on either cheek and it was quite alarming as he couldn't even part his legs to sit on my hip when being carried. If you use wipes, maybe try changing to unscented if they are scented as they could irritate it further.

This is also really common with tomatoes and citrus fruit. They are a really common cause of nappy rash.
