Hello, I am new to this but just wondered if anybody could help with ideas for shampoo/skin stuff that would reduce itchiness in a 6 year old. She is suffering, no obvious lumps or bumps but itchy feet a particular problem.

Not sure really, what have you tried?

I have tried normal shampoos and those children friendly shampoos but they all make her scalp itch and generally itch all over. We have taken her to the doctor and she was given some bath stuff which helped her skin but she is still getting itchy scalp and feet. She does not want to wear shoes and socks at school. I just wondered if there was some magic hypoallergenic thing that somebody might have used with happy results.

I would really recommend finding out if she has any food intolerance/allergies. For any symptoms in the body, there is a root cause. You may find it is something in her diet that is causing it. I really recommend Kinesiology as a natural, alternative therapy. You can find out about it on the web.

Make sure you use a SLS free shampoo as this could irritate her scalp. Try something like Beauty & the Bees Hemp & Honey Shampoo Bar or Dr Bronners soaps which are fine as shampoo. A bit of a long shot with her feet, are they always itchy or just when wearing shoes ? I have problems with leather shoes but in the summer when they are against my skin with no socks inbetween. I get a bright red mark across where the shoe was.

Thank you for the ideas, I will try the honey thing and think about food intolerance, there is some in the family so it is a possibility.
