Reaction to Parma Violets

Hi. 5 yr old DS has just eaten some Parma violets from his trick or treat stash. All around his mouth has gone speckled purple - a bit like broken capillaries. No swelling or pain. Has anyone experienced this reaction to sweets and do you know what may have caused it? Apparently is natural colourant in ingredients . TIA

Bit late now but any swelling?
Could just be from the natural colour - DS goes purple from beet root and blackberries.....
