Hi guys, looking for some advice before I head to my doctors!
5 days ago I started to itch.... On my legs, my thighs, my belly, my bra line, my back and the back of my arms!! Not all at once!! One area will be itchy and another won't! It feels exactly like prickly heat but I have not rash ect.
No one else in my house is itching!! Well apart from the dog!! We have recently moved to Germnay and since getting here the dog has been itching uncontrollably :-( I've just treated her fleas and bought her a new shampoo for dry itchy skin.
Any ideas what's going on with me?? I bought piriton yesterday but I didn't help and I don't want to take another as it's possible I may have been caught by they pregnancy big this month!!!!! ?? just need aunt flos conformation!!!!!!! X

Sometimes fleas live in carpets and only bite when the host cat or dog goes away (do you know if the last residents had animals?). Have you had allergies to fleas before? I find the aloe vera gel is good if not then lavender and or tea tree essential oils work well for me (can you tell I'm into natural cures Grin).

Then spray the whole house with pyrethrum spray which works well.

Plus under beds and mattresses, anywhere dark.n

We live in army quarters so most probably the last occupants had animals! I have sprayed the house but right enough I didn't spray under the bed, I will do that today! I havent found any fleas on the dog but she did have some sort of marks/bites under her arms! I wish bath her again today.
My itching is still present, it feels exactly like prickly heat but without the rash :( I don't have any of the remidies U suggest, but I will check the shops tomorrow. German shops are closed on a Sunday ??

I've noticed that allergies can suddenly appear especially as we grow older Grin.

I tried to go down the natural route with our cat instead of frontline and she bought fleas into the house. The pyrethrum spray works BUT as I said you have to spray in all the dark corners and we have those pine beds with drawers under them so I sprayed in them and under them too!!

Pure lemon juice is good for bites and allergies also olive oil if you need to use household stuff!

Are you feeling better now? x

Hi! You were right it's fleas Shock
I've only found 2 on my poor dog but my cat was riddled........ So I'm guessing im having some sort of reaction to them. This totally explains why I am the only one itching as no one else touches or holds the cat but me!
I've been on a mission.... I've completely took my house to pieces hoovered everywhere, and sprayed flea killer, boiled all bedding etc. I've bathed both cat and dog, and along with using a bit comb I've covered them in flea powder. I put a fle spot on them both last Tuesday but I'm not sure it's doing anything as it was only a bob martin one and as they say you buy cheap you buy twice!
I am still itching, not as severe as I was though. I will see the rest of the week out and if im still itchy by Monday I'll go see a doctor!
I feel terrible I'm usually on top of te cat with flea spot on but with moving over here in August and trying to settle in I've totally forgot! X
