Link between Cows milk or Lactose intolerance and echogenetic bowel ???

During my pregnancy my daughter showed echogenetic bowl (bowel glowing up on scan). She is now 4 months and after many tears (hers and mine!) she has been diagnosed primarily with cows milk colitis/ allergy and secondary lactose tolerance and acid reflux. I am wondering if there is a possibility the two are linked. Has anyone with echogenetic bowel showing on scan had dairy allergies? As if the two are linked it would be great to make mums aware of this possibility and look out for symptoms once their babies are born. Our little girl is a different baby now on Neocate but took 3 months to get a proper diagnosis!

I'm sorry to hear about everything you have been through - you must be so relieved to be at the end if that.

I don't know the answer to your question, but my baby has multiple allergies (dairy, egg, wheat and soya) and spent the last two months in my womb hiccuping ALOT (every hiccup was like 50-100 times). I thought it was very odd and mentioned it to midwives pre and post birth and everyone said it was normal. After 3 months of hell we found out he had silent reflux and at six months we discovered the allergies. I'm also wondering whether it is all in fact linked together, the allergies causing the severe hiccuping, which was causing the reflux?! And if that is the case, if I ever get pregnant again, and have a hiccuping baby in womb, should I stop eating all the allergen foods, and will that prevent the hiccuping and hence the silent reflux?

(There's alot more research required in the area really).
