Is this an allergy?

My 7 month old son has been eating solids for 6-7 weeks seemingly without any problems. He loves his food! However since lunch today he has been vomiting, not huge amounts but enough. I just took off his vest for his bath and he has a rash over his chest and stomach. Otherwise he seems well in himself.
He also was really sick on Monday of this week (6 days ago) but I didn't notice a rash. I've been racking my brains but I'm pretty sure he had chicken on both these days for lunch (the other ingredients have been eaten on days when not sick). Could he be allergic to chicken? Hmm

I have a little one with allergies, so I do sympathise. Firstly, it could be the hot weather causing the sickness and rash. Or it could be a new food. My understanding is that chicken is not a common allergen, but that is not to say someone could not be allergic. The best way to tell is to make sure you avoid chicken for 3 weeks. Do not give any other new foods in this time. After 3 weeks, give chicken early on in the day, as this is the best time to check for allergies cos you have all day to observe. See if there is a reaction and if there is ask go for a referral to paediatric allergy consultant for allergy testing. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. I will do just that and see what happens.

Was there anything in the chicken? Like butter, or cheese or soya or nuts or wheat?

No, none if those. Mainly veg. (Carrots, leeks, sweet potato, peas)

It could be peas?
