Allergy testing

Is it worth it for an adult? I'm keeping a food diary and I've noticed patterns in my post-eating stomach cramps and projectile vomiting. Can I get referred by my GP - I have private health insurance?

Thanks in advance.

Patch testing won't show up a gut reaction .
If you notice a pattern can't you just avoid the offending food ?

It's a few groups of food. My diet is getting more and more restricted. Sad

yes I would deffo ask for a referral for testing, and when u go take along food diary, list of symptoms etc. that way they can narrow down what to test for!

good luck x

Also read The Complete Guide to Allergy and Intolerance
Read from the beginning , not just the bits that are relevant . It could be that its one food group that's causing your gut irritation and making it struggle with other food groups - thought that might cheer you up if you are feeling really restricted currently !
Speak to your gp and as stated above - use your food diary .

I would highly recommend the book mentioned below. Read it all and its a complete guide, so will tell you how to do an elimination test to find the culprit/s.

And yes do get a referral to at the same time.
