My DD (12 months) has dairy, egg, soya and possibly wheat intolerance (delayed allergy).

The symptoms with dairy is a delayed rush, and with other things delayed hives.

Paediatrician says it is very unlikely she is allergic to fish too. I have given her fish twice. 1st time, she was unsettled at night and had greeny poo the next day. 2nd time, she was a bit unsettled the next day. This of course could all be a coincidence (she is teething too and has been for a while). So should I try it again or leave it? I'm quite concerned, as her diet is already limited and trying it get all the goodness in is already a struggle.

Thanks Thanks

Are you seeing an allergy specialist? I would request this strongly as you are already giving her such a restricted diet. I would not restrict it further until you have stronger evidence.
There is a great chance of cross contamination - how you cooked the fish, what it was cooked with, its source and so on.

The fish was in the form of fish fingers which are gluten, dairy and soya free.

Dd has a severe allergy to fish and has done from her first taste so would have been younger than your child. Dd swelled around the face and became wheezy and then hives appeared. She had no gastro symptoms, Gp gave her hydrocortisone and adrenalin in the surgery as I rushed her there she had kidney checks and saw a paed who confirmed fish allergy .
Gp did say that she would have expected cooked fish to cause less reaction but it was fish fingers (Captain Birds Eye Cod Filet) that triggered her really quickly I think 40 mins. Her other allergies are pet hair and hayfever so other than avoiding all fish she eats a normal diet

They can do a skin test for allergies.

I dont see why she wouldnt be allergic to fish. My DD is allergic to eggs fish and nuts amongst other things.

She swells up if she eats fish.

Thanks everyone. She has come completely clear for ALL allergens using skin prick test, including dairy, which she is obviously reacting to.

There are no physical symptoms at all with fish, and I'm worried I may be ruling it out too early?
