How long for a wheat intolerance trial?

Two of my dc have mild bowel problems, despite eating a good diet and being active. They have had negative blood tests for coeliac. I am mildly wheat intolerant, so decided to trial a coeliac diet for them, to see if they perhaps had the same problem as me.

We've been doing it now for one month. No difference so far. Dd and I fell completely off the wagon on a weekend away just before half-term. By the end of the weekend I was bloated and feeling rough, she was unaffected.

How long should I persevere with the trial?

paediatrician and dietician for my DD said 6-8 weeks for wheat. Both are from the evelina/st Thomas children's allergy clinic.
