Hi everyone,

Just wanted to make you aware that the Children and Young People's Allergy Network Scotland (CYANS) have organised an event on Tuesday 24th June 2014 at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

This is a free event to increase awareness of the impact allergies have on the quality of life of children and young people suffering from allergy and the chance to hear and discuss what plans are being made to improve allergy services across Scotland.

The day will feature:

  • Young people and parents speaking about their experiences of living with allergy
  • CYANS Lead Clinician highlighting needs for future allergy care
  • a representative from the Scottish Government responding to the recent recommendations by CYANS
  • Allergy nurses, dieticians and specialist nurses in dermatology and asthma on hand to offer basic allergy advice and information*
  • And the chance to sample the latest â??free fromâ?? foods.
  • Creation Station with crafts for kids

For more details please email [email protected] or alternatively, call 0131 275 7546.

To View the draft outline of the day you can visit www.cyans.org.uk.

We are going and either dh or I will be speaking about the challenges we face, and challenges we have overcome, raising a child who has allergies.

We haven't been to an event like this before so are really looking forward to meeting parents in a similar situation.

Oops sorry forgot to add the time - it's a full day even 10am-3pm. I have been told that children are welcome but that it cannot be advertised as a family event due to it being term time.
