Hi,

I'm looking for a private clinic/consultant in London that will do am extensive blood test for allergies and intolerances. Any recommendations?

Adam Fox, George Du Toit. Both work with Gideon Lack at the Portland.

Thanks! Smile

I'm asking GP to refer us, should I ask for Professor or George?

Any of them, although if you look at the Portland website it tells you what the consultants deal with specifically. I think as an outpatient you can just phone and make an appointment without a GP referral. We didn't go via the GP, we just self paid for a one off appointment.

Pobble, thanks! May I ask how much it cost and what was the outcome of the appointment?

Paid about £200 to see one of the dermatologists as the GP basically told us there was nothing they could do for my 4 month old's eczema. As much as I hated that we had to go private to get any sort of treatment it was also the best money we ever spent as DS got sorted (much to the consultant's disgust about the GP!). Afterwards I went back to the GP with the letters and prescription and we got an NHS referral.

We actually saw Adam Fox on the NHS in the end in the allergy clinic at St Thomas'. He's really good.

What troubles are you having? If you don't mind me asking.

Pleased to hear it was all sorted for you.

My DD has multiple allergies and intolerances, and most are not showing up on the skin prick test, and the paedetrician we've been referred to hasn't tested for intolerances, and appears to give us conflicting advice to the NICE guidelines, so we were hoping to see an expert in the area.
