Alcohol rash

Hi
I have recently started to develop a rash on certain occasions after drinking alcohol. There does not appear to be a pattern though. The first time was probably about a month ago and has happened about 3 or 4 times since. I only ever drink wine , beer or prosecco so no change in drinking habits and typically have no more than half a bottle on a Friday and Saturday. It did happen on Saturday though when I was out celebrating a birthday with friends and so had drunk more than half bottle. I was very conscious of it and ended up going to bed earlier.
The rash is on my cheeks and sometimes down into my neck and looks awful. It feels hot and is gone by the morning.
I am puzzled as I have never had this reaction to alcohol before , am not a heavy drinker and don't feel like anything has changed.
Any insights would be most appreciated!
TIA

Sulphites maybe? I know some wines are higher in sulphites than others (usually the cheaper the wine, the higher the sulphite content) so maybe this could be the issue?

I second sulfites, the same thing happens to me. Especially if you're drinking cheaper European wine - they tend to blithely ignore the regulations on allowed amount of sulfites. You might find a similar problem if you eat a lot of pork.

Another possibility might be Rosacea. A relative of mine developed it, first sign was occasional flushing after drinking alcohol, which gradually became more frequent. Probably wise to see GP.

I get this as do quite a lot of my friends - we call it wine rash, and we definitely drink quite a lot of cheaper European wine...

thanks all
sulphites could be interesting and I had pork twice at the weekend so maybe a combination of the two ? will have to track what I am eating / drinking and try elimination ( where possible! )
