Hi ladies,

Im hoping you can help me, I have really sensitive ears so can't wear high-street /even high street jewellers earrings, do you know where I can get earrings that won't make my ears all red and itchy?

Someone told me I need nickel-free, but I wouldn't know how to tell if it's nickel-free?

I've seen some 'hypoallergenic' stud earrings but they are pretty basic studs you would get pierced with, and I want some pretty ones like my friends can buy from the high-street.

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks a million

Liz

Claires do a sterling silver range. Avoid their rhodium as they can cause reactions

I have the same problem and can only wear gold or silver earrings. I tend not to wear them much now.
I can't wear watches and am allergic to sticking plasters too.

Ive heard people coating the back of watches/earrings/bracelets with clear nail polish. You could try it on something cheap?

Have you tried titanium? I think that's supposed to have the lowest nickel content, which is why piercers use it for new piercings.

My mum is the same. She can oly wear gold or Platinum!
You can get things to coat them with but they quickly wear off the post of the earring as the backs go on and off them.
Sorry to say but you might just have to develop very expensive tastes in jewellery

My daughter us allergic to it all, gold , silver rtc etc.

Then we were recommended to try titanium . Low and behold they cause no irritation and she can wear earrings again.

We buy the Tresor Paris earrings for her from Ernest Jones Jewellers, they cost upwards from £11.

Try Delicate Earrings, an online shop specializing in earrings for people with allergies. They sell titanium, surgical steel and also medical plastic which is metal free. They have helped my daughter to be able to wear her earrings again! Smile

I just paint clear nail varnish on them-works well.
