Can a food allergy cause a temperature?

Just written another thread on here (see 8mo egg allergy)

I gave him some pasta last night - and he had an AWFUL night. No hives or anything, but a big temperature and was up all the time. This morning he has a v bad tummy - and has been sick.

Probably unconnected but I wanted to check.

Food allergies do not cause temperatures.

The hives may be due to egg allergy, or be a reaction to a virus.

The temperature - a virus.

Bad tummy - could be either, or both. Ds1 used to have bloody diarrhoea if he had cow's milk.

He needs a skin prick test for egg allergy. Go to your GP and nag ask for a referral.

I am not so sure about temp and allergy. I am keeping an open mind. My little ones allergies are life threatening and come with various easy to spot symptoms ,but I am keeping my eye in the temp as I have notice this spikes with a certain food each time we try to introduce it. I have the dietitian apt next week and will be interested in her thoughts.
