After a trip to a&e because DD is on a milk strike again we have been started on domperidone and Omeprazole instead of ranitidine, just wondered if anyone has tried this with their little one and what effects it had. I'm hoping they work as her reflux just keeps getting worse ð???.

I was given omeprazole for my LO but she just won't take it. I've heard it's very effective though. Do you have it in tablet or liquid form?

We have only been prescribed it tonight and got to pick it up tomorrow from the hospital as the pharmacy was shut. I presume it's a tablet that we either dissolve or a capsule that we can open and sprinkle on some food. I just hope it works

Make sure it is losec MUPS you get. It's a tablet that dissolves into tiny bits. You give it via a syringe with some water. I give it via a calpol syringe. My LO loves getting it for some reason..! I do make it fun mind you. It has helped immensely and she no longer fights me at every feed!

My DS was on both - was never really sure if the Domperidone made any difference. We got Losec MUPS (Omeprazole) & used to dissolve it in a tiny amount of water then stir it into fruit purée.

How old is your DD?

YouAreMySunShine271 · 22/12/2013 22:42

She is 5 months old. Every feed is a battle with her only taking an ounce at most before she starts. It makes feeding such hard work. I just
Want to be able to give her a feed without her being in pain.

With my DS the diffence was dramatic and pretty much instant- he was a different baby within 24 hours. DD needed a week for it to start making a difference, she has also ended up one much higher dose.
Hopefully you will see very good results OP and feeding will become much easier.

First dose has been given today so fingers crossed. I'm worrying I've put too much hope into this solving the problem and I'm going to be at square one if it doesn't help.
