my DS has multiple allergies and at his last apt with allergy Dr he was prescribed ceterizine at 2.5ml once or twice a day (he is 12 months old) for 6 months. Anyway he HATES having it a masive battle but once we get it down him he has a coughing fit that can last 1 minute or so. At first we thought it was just going 'down the wrong way' but then realised that it was happening EVERY TIME even onthe odd occasions he took it happily.

So spoke to GP on phone today who prescribed a different brand to see if that would help. No coughing so we thought grand! But about 1 hour later he projectile vomited and was really breathless. We gave him inhalers and he slowly perked right up.

Now the common ingredient is ceterizine and E216 and E218 and glycerol.

Has anyone had any difficulty with these ingredients? Could he be reacting to them? It seems so unlikely. Really don't know where to go from here. Really nervous to give it to him tomorrow but also not convinced it CAN be it.

OP get the tablets and crush them up and stick them in juice or something. We have been giving my son citirizine like this since he was 16 months old.
