Got these for ds in 'original' flavour. He is allergic to milk and eggs and the ingredients list looked fine.

However, he ate a few said he had a headache, then a tummy ache and his throat hurt then was violently sick.

I tried one that he had left and it tasted almost like sour cream and chive flavour crisps, dh and my sister opened the rest of the packs in multipack and they were all the same so I'm now wondering if either the original flavour does in fact contain milk/egg or if they have muddled up the flavours/packaging by mistake.

I am going to try and phone walkers this morning but wondered if anybody else had had similar issues with these crisps, and also to warn that there's possibly a problem with them for allergic children.

Those 'original' flavour aren't plain salted, they are actually flavoured. They're very unpleasant, but they are supposed to taste like that according to Walkers.

If the ingredients say they don't contain those things, then they don't. They're just horrible, and I don't think the flavours have been muddled up. Was there any allergy info on the packet, like 'may contain traces of...'?

They were very odd and something in them made ds very ill, it does say they are made in same factory as other things containing milk etc so maybe I just need to be a bit more careful.

We didn't have a problem with them for dd but when she first ate them and offered me one I nearly passed out with fright at the flavour and ran through to open other bags - I was convinced that they had put in a sour cream or cheese and onion bag in the wrong packaging! Turns out this is just how they taste Smile

Dd has allergy to milk eggs and nuts and was ok with them.

Not sure it was the crisps, ds had eaten blueberries the same day and had some this morning and immediately got a sore throat and was violently sick so now we are wondering if it was in fact blueberries although he has eaten them with no problem for years.

So fed up of allergies.

Oh no cantsleep I do feel for you and your DS. I hope you get to the bottom of it (and that it's not a new allergy)

cant - I'm with you in being fed up with allergies. You get your head round one lot and them another rears it's ugly head.

Scuse French!
