Can a baby of 10 months be suddenly allergic to cats?

My son seems to itch his face and head a lot and I can't understand why yet. We found out that he's probably allergic to milk and definitely to nuts. Could the itching come from my milk (he breastfeeds), since I'm not on a milk diet? or could it be from our house cat who's been here forever? or could it be something else?
Thanks very much for your help

yes. allergies dont come in ones or twos or restrict themselves just to food.
its worth getting some testing done for food and environmental allergies as well.

what medical help are you getting at the moment if you have discovered the food allergies?

try and get a copy of proff jonathan brostoff book, complete guide to food allergy and intolerance.

and BTW my son has allergies to peanut/all beans/kiwi fruit/yeast extract/cat/dog/dust mite/tree pollen/hay fever
first sign of environmental allergies started at 5 months

Thanks for your answer.
I've been once to a dietician who wasn't that helpful. But she did tell me to start a milk diet which i've just started a couple of days ago. My son, of course, doesn't have any dairy even the ones with the traces (although he didn't seem allergic to those).
How do I know if he's allergic to wheat or gluten? The doctor said that these allergies don't mostly come about as rashes or excema but have to do with dietgestion.
The dietician also recommended to give him Pepti formula which is supposed to be specially for milk allergy. but how come after he had it for the first time yesterday he seemed to have little red pimples near his mouth for an hour?
Sorry for all the questions. I'm new at the whole business and am trying to figure out what I should do.

My son too started itching his head a lot and it started in my mums garden last week when he was in the paddling pool-her garden is also full of different types of plants/flowers etc...and she cooked some corn fritters with herbs from the garden...could it be the sun..it could be anything! Where do I start to eliminate as well? I wonder if I can put the double base cream on his head as well- I use this for small spot of excema on his elbow and it cleared up. You're not alone debliz5!
