My dd is 2 moths old and both i and my husband between us have asthma, hayfever and ezcema. We have a cat which we are now seriously considering having rehomed in case it increases dd chances of getting asthma and ezcema. Anyone else been in the same situation?

i dont think having a cat will increase his risks of getting asthma/eczema.

my dd1 is allergic to cats, they set her eczema and asthma off, but so do grasses, pollen, dust mites, certain food colourings etc.

dd2 allergic to cats. her eyes will stream, and her skin will itch.

dd3 is also allergic to cats. she has mild eczema, and no asthma, if she touches a cat she come out in welts over her skin.

we dont have a cat. we did have a cat when dd1 was small, but got rid of him after we had tried everything else to relieve her symptoms.
