My DD is 6.5 months and she's been trying solids since 6 months. I've been pretty cautious as there are lots of allergies in the family. I introduced dairy (she's bf), wheat and eggs on their own with at least 4 days between. Dairy is definitely fine, she's guzzled lots of yoghurt and porridge. Wheat seems ok, she's swallowed pasta (non egg) and bread.
She sucked on some omlette a bit but didn't seem that interested. I presumed she just wasn't in the mood.
She then had a plum dumpling which brought her out in a very mild rash on her stomach. As the plum was the only new thing I thought it might be that.
Yesterday she had some homemade lamb patties. They had lamb, breadcrumbs, yoghurt, egg and spices in them.
She had a really good guzzle as she seemed to like the lamb but then got a bit distressed and came out in hives all over her stomach and round her mouth. She was fine in herself, no issues breathing or anything and didn't seem upset once I picked her up.
I suspect it was the egg as the other things are either things she's had several times or not generally allergenic. She also had rice and broccoli.
I phoned the HV to check what I should do. She gave me several conflicting pieces of advice ranging from don't give egg again as the reaction will get worse to try a small amount in a week or two to check it's that.
I'm loath to give her more without proper advice as it was a very clear reaction.
What should I do oh wise MNers?
