Cake recipe for multiply allergic person? Does anyone have a recipe for a delicious chestnut/chocolate cake I once tried?

My friend rashly promised to produce a cake for her sister's birthday but has now realised the implications of making a cake containing no identifiably cake ingredients. The cake has to be egg-free, gluten free, nut-free and dairy-free. I once had a kind of French chocolate log made with chestnut flour and cocoa- has anyone out there had anything like this? And if so do they have a a recipe? All ideas very happily received; my friend will be very grateful!

I had to make our wedding cake gluten, dairy and soya free so I used Doves Farm chocolate cake mix as a base, instead of butter I used Pure sunflower spread, this should work for your friend, you can buy egg substitute from most big supermarkets or use 60ml vegetable oil per egg, or I think one very ripe banana. The cake mix is delicious with chocolate (get it from the freefrom section so it's dairy free) and chopped dates mixed in, goes very moist and yummy.

Try googling vegan raw chocolate deserts and add a nut free to the search. I am amazed at just how tasty some of these recipes are- is coconut out?

I would avoid chestnut flour with nut allergy.
