Hi, My dd2 has had problems in the past with her hearing and has just got another referral to ENT. We have noticed that the past 2 years her aversion to noise and 'switching off' hascome during the Summer months. She has hayfever but this year is the first time it has been bad.She has piriton everyday (and isn't drowsy at all Grin). We have been wondering do the sinuses/hayfever affect the ears?

Yes it can. I have a similar issue. I went to the doctors years ago and was told it was 'eustacianary something or other'. The tubes in your ears that normally equalise the pressure get blocked. It feels the same as when you go up in a plane before your ears pop. It makes my hearing more 'blurred' and I have to make an effort to pop my ears before I can hear a conversation properly.

She has already had problems in the past with hearing loss and her speech is still unclear(starts school in sept) so I am starting to worry if she will get this every year.
