Huggies “Pure” parabens and methylisothiozonalate

Huggies Pure contain two known chemicals for causing dermatitis. Nobody would knowingly apply to their babies delicate skin. Treatment is steroid cream, not something one would want to use on babies and diagnosis is difficult. How many Mum's are aware of these additives and the severity and permanent nature of the sensitivity if they haven?t previously seen or experienced a reaction? The reaction would likely be assumed to be nappy rash thus delaying solving the problem and removing exposure to the allergens.
I developed sensitivities to these preservatives in my 50's causing acute skin inflammation that was only resolved after many months when patch testing identified these preservatives in many of my everyday skin products. For some reason I did not check the ingredient in this product before using it. Huggies provoked an acute flare up in my dermatitis. I am extremely worried concerned that such a product is marketed as "pure" for use with babies.

YOu're right lots of 'pure' products and those deemed 'simple' for babies contain these awful chemicals. My poor sister's skin looks like 3rd degree burns if she comes into contact with them. Always check the labels

those who have kids with eczema find that this sort of product irritates skin.
johnson and johnson baby products are not imo suitable for infants. highly perfumed and coloured.

I never accept any product labled pure or natural. I always read the label and more often than not, avoid.

You're right. Ask yourself what the word "pure" means when applied to a product. Pure what? Absolutely nothing. It's merely a marketing word.

Yep. One of my friends was using them recently on her daughter's awful nappy rash. I suggested going back to water and cotton wool and hey presto, nappy rash started to heal... She was very surprised though

Thanks for the comments. My main point though is that most Mums, although reading the label,will not know that methylisothiozolonane and parabens are potential triggers for dermatitis. How can we disseminate this more widely?
