Hello I could really do with some advise. Last 2/3 days ds 4 has been sniffing non stop (especially bad at night) and he says he can smell anything. He doesn't have a runny nose or watery eyes and is feeling good apart from the constant sniffing. So my question is could this be hay fever and if it is what should I do? Sorry if this sounds trivial but I've never had an allergy (not dh) so were a bit clueless Abput it Hmm
Thanks for reading Smile

yes could be allergy. put finger on one nostril and ask him to breathe through nose, then try other , if blocked with no clear signs of viral/cold infection allergic rhinitis is more likely.
try nightly non sedative anti histamine for about 2 weeks (ask gp for advice) and things should improve. make note on calender for start of symptoms, to try and work out cause of hay fever/tree pollen allergy.

hope this helps.

Great thanks. He can breathe a bit but not well. Will go to chemist today and get some antihistamine. Thanks Smile
