Can anyone tell me whether its safe to flavour neocate milk with anything for my six month old? I've tasted the stuff and its vile :(

It does taste vile to us but not necessarily to them! My DS took to it ok after introducing gradually (mixing with usual milk). I know that others have used Nesquik to flavour it but this is full of sugar/colours etc so not ideal long term. Maybe try it in food first to get little one used to the taste?

We are struggling too. My son is milk, egg and peanuts allergic. He is EBF til now but we've been advised to trial this formula to ensure he will take it. He won't! We've been doing a mix til now and he is on 2oz neocate to 5oz BM of which he will drink 5oz in total. So no advice except maybe do the same.

Ds1 (6) is now on neocate advance and loves it plain or with choc nesquik. He started on neocate when he was 6 mnths old, he hated it-we would make some up and when he had his bath each night we would distract him with toys and just keep feeding little sips to him. After a few weeks he would drink the whole beaker and has been fine ever since.

We use nesquik as a treat due to it being so high in sugar, the chocolate one improves the taste (to me) greatly but ds drinks it plain most days.

We did use to warm it up slightly too even though it says to just serve cold/room temp. DS much preferred it slightly warm.

For a 6m old I really wouldn't add anything to it, some will take it and some won't. Yes it is nasty tasting stuff but if you don't know much different generally you'll go with it! There is an alternative to neocate but I know they tend to try neocate first.
