every time she eats .. doesn't matter what

she wakes up fine .. but every time she eats something .. from breakfast to lunch to snacks etc the skin goes bright red

its been happening for about a month now .. she has a few pin pricky spots underneath

any ideas? could it be allergic? (can't see what to unless its everything)

thanks

its something she eats every day.
cut out the juice for 2 weeks?

does she have any other skin /allergy probs?

fuzzywuzzy · 05/06/2006 16:13

Twiglett my dd has suddenly come up in a myserious red rash around her mouth too.
The skin has turned rather rough and looks sore, I've been plastering it with Aloe Vera gel which seems to soothe it but it keeps flaring up. I don't give her anything like squash or juice only water or milk.

Sorry no help.

DD was getting this but we narrowed it down to certain brands of tom ketchup. It would last about an hour or so and then just disappear.

schneebly · 05/06/2006 16:19

could it be dairy?

nailpolish · 05/06/2006 16:21

twig my dd gets that with egg or mayo

she can have things with egg in it like cakes but cant have eggs like boiled or scrambled iyswim

or mayo, thats the worst reaction

nailpolish · 05/06/2006 16:23

after one particular fried egg incident she ended up in hospital dehydrated on a drip after vomiting for hours and hours

Twiglett · 05/06/2006 16:25

I've been vaselining it (as a barrier) before she eats and its much better

think it might have been some kind of infection (fungal?)

she used to be allergic to eggs but grew out of it and there are no other obvious links

Don't know hold old your dd is but does she dribble?

nailpolish · 05/06/2006 16:28

oh now you mention it can you tell me more about growing out of it

what age?

how did you know?

dd is desperate for boiled egg and soldiers

Twiglett · 05/06/2006 17:45

she wasn't so much allergic .. as sensitive to eggs .. she grew out of it about 19 months .. she just nicked some scrambled egg and ate it with no reaction

ok, thanks , dd is now almost 4

My dd, 18months, has also developed a red pimply looking rash around her mouth. It started about 1month ago when she was teething (molars) on the left side of her mouth which also happens to be the side that she sucks her thumb. Thought it might be that. But now the rash has spread to all around her mouth. It looks calmer in the morning and at its worst by the end of supper. If I put any creams on (epaderm, vaseline) she licks them off and makes it all look even worse. Any ideas? She only has milk or water to drink, and no allergies/intolerances as far as I'm aware.

Even though you might not be around anymore, I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas for what was going on with honeybunny'LO because it is now happening to mine!!! (6mo)
Could it me teething?
