Coconut milk - canned only?

My DS, seven months, has been tested and is highly allergic to peanuts and eggs. I kinda guessed the peanuts when I (stupidly) had a satay and kissed him, and his cheeks flared up bright red like I'd painted him. Then they blistered.

Anyway I gave him some coconut milk from a can and some banana this evening. He normally loves banana and has shown no allergy/intolerance to it but refused the food. Some did go in but most went all over his cheeks and chin. They've now flared up just like with the satay, and after a little googling it seems there's something in canned coconut milk called guar gum that's of the legume family i.e peanuts. Has anybody heard of this?

im not familiar with it,

How does he seem in himself?

think you had best jot coconut milk on the list of things he's not to have, just in case.

I cannot tolerate soya, baked beans or cashews all of which are legumes, whereas there are other legumes I'm fine with.

Are you sure it is not the coconut too, my DH was allergic to it as a child.
