Soya Free Infant Formula?

HI,
My Son has quite severe eczema which we think could be milk or soya bean related. I have been breastfeeding so far but he is over 5 months now and I am getting ready to stop. We have tried cows milk formula and soya formula and he seemed to react to both of them.
We have also tried a Hydrolised formula, but it is so horrible he wont drink a drop!!!
I have just been looking at the back of the formula packets and have discovered that both the cows milk formula and the wysoy have soyabean products in them. We are now thinking that it might not be a milk allergy, and just a soyabean allergy but can't seem to find a formula that does not contain it.
Does anyone know of a formula that is suitable for babies with a soyabean allergy?
Cheers, Helen.

I am sure that there is a hypoallergenic formula, I have hear lots of people mention it, but as my ds is still breastfed and has rice milk on breakfast, I can't be of much help I'm afraid.

I hope that you find something for him soon.

DS is allergic to milk and soya and was prescribed Neocate by a paediatrician. It tastes so awful that you will need to introduce it soon so he can get used to it before he becomes fuzzy with flavours.

Some times soya is hidden in food products as hydrolised oils, vegetable protein and E322.

Can you keep breastfeeding - the soy free formula (and even neocate has a soy ingredient - though it's not supposed to be a problem) can be hard to get children to take to when they are older.

What about the organic one or nanny goat - do they have soy in?

Breastfeeding will help in the long run with his allergies and eczema - even if you don't see any improvement now.

SMA does a cows milk formula that is lactose free. I used to get mine from an independant pharmacy. Don't remember if it has any soya in it though...
