Jext/epipen on flights

Hello,

We've got a flight the end of April (our first since Dd was prescribed her Jext pen). In the past we've had no trouble with bringing her piriton (in a smaller bottle), and brought her own food on the flight with a letter that basically states she has food allergies.

My question is, will we need a letter from her GP specifically stating she needs the pen, or is the prescription label on the box for it enough evidence?

Check with your airline. We were not allowed to bring any medication at all on emirates, so we had to go without our piriton as its illegal in Dubai. And we were just transferring there. Not leaving the airport.

And we had a prescription.

We always carry a letter from DS's consultant stating the need for epi-pens, Piriton etc. We also make sure we take a bottle of Piriton with prescription label on but we don't keep the boxes for epi-pens. It does depend on the airline but I'm pretty sure most of them require a doctor's letter to carry epi-pens (or similar).

Just to add, you'll need to take them out of your bag when you go through security and put them through separately.

We had no issues with epi pens or piriton (though I guess that depends on where ur flying to) We had epi pens, piriton inhalers etc all in a first aid bag. I put his repeat prescription, anaphylaxis plan and asthma plan into this bag too. Who are you flying with and what allergies does ur child have?
