I personally have to avoid swimming in chlorinated pools as it makes my eczema flare even if I apply emollient/barrier beforehand and thorough shower, more emollient afterwards - Sad as I love swimming. But I do know people, including DC, who find it doable, again with prior application of barrier/emollient beforehand and careful showering plus more emollient afterwards. The Eczema Society has a fact sheet on swimming and eczema, just type swimming into the search box. Good luck.

We cover DS in his emollient cream, greasier the better (50/50 is good as it's very waterproof). We also put him in one of those long sleeve and long leg swimsuits then shower him straight after his swim and reapply his emollient.
