Dietary issues and poor weight gain

DS is 9 months has CMPI, issues with soy & has broken out in hives with foods a fair bit since starting solids. We are due to see an allergist soon, thankfully.

However, he has barely put any weight on in 3 months, pretty much since we started weaning. He's now on the 2nd centile & I'm not sure what could be causing it. Can allergies cause poor weight gain?

I have coeliac disease & DS also has a heart condition so it could be those but the pead doesn't seem to think its that.

If anyone has any similar experience I would really love to hear them Smile

poor weight gain is a common symptom of allergies, my dd was below the 9th until we got her symptoms under control, now at 32 months she generally is good at gaining weight, although today I've learned she's lost weight over the last 3 months but she has been reacting to something over the last few month's.
have a look at the CMPA support group post and come and join our face book group Wink Wink

Current NICE guidelines are that immediate family members should be tested for coeliac disease, given his poor weight gain it may well be worth him getting a blood test, even if just to rule it out.
