Allergic to Moshi Monsters?!

My daughter got Tesco moshi monsters pyjamas for xmas. She starting itching and by the 3rd night she had come out in the most horrific hives / eczema allergic rash from neck to toe. I wondered if anyone else had had allergic reactions to new clothes and if it is ok to wear them if washed - I presume it is a chemical in the clothing and not the Moshi Monsters (although that might save me a few bob!).
She is not usually allergic so I was wondering if anyone else had experienced it.

I have generally sensitive skin an have occasionally been irritated by new clothes but have found them fine after a couple of washes.

I think it's quite common to react to unwashed new clothes, I think they coat the cloth in something to make the cloth run through the machines more smoothly? I'm sure they'll be fine once they are washed.

Wash them twice or three times and then get her to try them again. I think she'll be fine then - I've had this a few times. It is something to do with smoothing chemicals, I believe, and a few washes does sort it out.

Have googled and apparently the chemicals are to prevent mildew and to make the co,ours look brighter.

Yes I had a reaction to my new work uniforms Hmm with a horrible itchy rash all over. Despite this, the bastards still made me wear them. I washed them 3 times, and didn't react again. Once they were totally free of whatever chemical it was.

I've never reacted to anything else before. And I don't have sensitive skin. But I wasn't the only one to react the uniforms. Mine was the worst reaction though!

DS had awful hives from wearing some new t-shirts, which then developed into eczema. It's only happened once though. The t-shirts were 100% cotton and I checked with the manufacturer that nothing weird had been used on them, so it still remains a mystery.

The most likely culprit is some chemical used in the manufacturing process.
