Hi
My 13 week old baby has a milk alergy, he is EBF. Lately he seems to be getting fussy again and I am completely milk free and today he has pooped what seems to be a heap of sand!

Its really like a scoop of yellow and darky green sand. Very hard.

Has anyone any experience of this!?

Hi ChristmasKnackers,

If the poo is hard then your LO may be dehydrated. Probably best to call either the Health Visitor or the GP, especially if you have no milk today.

Hope this helps.

Thankyou. Dr not bothered as Henry seems well in himself! Hadn't thought about dehydration. . . He does seem to be feeding alot.
Thanks for response, appreciated.

It could be dehydration or could be a further allergen via your breast milk. I would contact your GP or HV, they may suggest some rehydration drinks.

What milk alternative are you using?

just a thought, dose your baby have reflux meds? they can cause "chalky" stools Hmm

I'm not using any milk alternatives at the moment, I am waiting to see the dietician and hopefully they will prescribe. His older brother had nutramigen, but I hardly used it and breastfed instead.
He's not on any meds either, I seem to be able to control any reflux by not having milk.
I thought about another allergen, perhaps keeping a food diary may help... All his further poos today have been normal, or normal for him at least.

Thanks for the replies, much appreciated.

Oh and if you mean what I am using.... Sorry, I am mainly using almond milk or oat milk. I did have a lot of cereal and almond milk yesterday.
