piriton for 8 month old

dd has a virus and is runing a fver at night, excema has broken out all over body asa result she is itching like crazy. just bought priton form chemist. pharmacist says some doctors prescribe it for 6 month olds but not recommended till a year. i am at wits end...should i use it?

Medised can be used at that age and contains antihitimine, that was the compromise I used when DS had chicken pox and was too young for piriton
