Anyone with a coeliac AND diabetic DC?

I am wondering what symptoms alerted you to the diabetes?

I have a coeliac DC and wonder how I would spot signs of diabetes.

Sorry no, just a coeliac DD and a DS with allergies. What symptoms are you worried about?

I don't think it's diabetes, actually, freefrom. Having looked it up, he doesn't have the frequent urination or excessive thirst.

He still gets very tired (he has been gluten free for 6 months and his energy levels are vastly improved, but he is still exhausted by bedtime). And he catches every bug going - will have a high temperature every couple of weeks for a couple of days.

I'm not sure if it's just a matter of needing more time to get back to full health after all the gut damage, or if there is something else wrong.

He starts school in September, so want him to be in good shape!

His iron stores will be low as he wont have been absorbing it for a long time.

I'd ask the doctor about a child friendly tonic - when my DS was first diagonosed I gave him a probotic everyday to help improve his gut.
