If you have a lactose allergy, did you know you can have hard cheeses?

Allergy or intolerance?

I'm intolerant - and can have yoghurt and cheese (most) - not that the dietician who I spoke to when I was pregnant knew that it was quite common for those with lactose intolerance to be able to have them - the lactose is transformed in the fermentation process. However, I understand that some lactose intolerant people are still not able to tolerate them, so its not true for everyone.

Allergy, I get a terrible rash from cows milk products but nothing from hard cheeses.

maybe it is different for everyone, my own dd had a lactose intolerance she could not eat hard cheese without being very unwell.
