How to stop ds scratching eczema on neck?

Anyone got any ideas how to stop my one year old scratching some red, sore looking eczema around his neck. He scratches it all day, almost just a habit, and it's making it much worse. Trying to find small-necked t-shirt that cover the area as if he can't get at it, I think he'd scratch less. Any other tips?

Scratchsleeves?

They worked really well for DD overnight

Ah, I should have said, he sucks his thumb. That's the way he comforts himself and settles himself during the night, so I'd be loathed to make that impossible. thanks for suggesrtions thought

i would maybe get one of the vests/sleepsuits with mittens attached and just cut a little hole for his thumb?

we put turtle necks on ds at that age because he would scratch himself raw...
we got plain cotton ones in the skiwear section at decathlon.

Thanks all - love the idea of hole for thumb, yesterday. Turtle necks are a great idea Mousy. I was thinking of getting him a polo-neck but it seems mean in this heat. Turtle necks are on offer at the Pure Cotton Comfort website too, I notice. Think I'll buy some of these to wear day as well as night and hopefully that'll cover his neck
