Anyone know any gluten-free food shops / restaurants in Northumberland?

Will be staying near Beadnell on the coast. First holiday since DS's diagnosis.

The only local supermarket is Morrisons which are rubbish for gf. We're self-catering.

Wondering if anyone knows anywhere that might be useful?!

i don't know northumberland, but is this site any use? here

or this one, if this is the right village indicates that the tesco is only 15 miles away and that you can get an online shop, so you could schedule one to arrive at your cottage on the day you get there? That's what I do when I go self catering.

Or do a bit before you go and take it with you?

I've always found Morrison's very good for gf products, we get most of DD's stuff from there. She particularly loves their gf jam tarts and choc chip cookies plus they do Dietary Specials and Warburtons gf breads/rolls etc. Maybe it depends which one you go to. I do admit that they're no good for frozen gf products, in fact I think the only thing they do is DS gf pizzas in ours.

There is a Sainsburys in Alnwick that should stock a good range of GF foods. I'm surprised that you find Morrisons rubbish for GF foods as our local branch stocks a wide range. A coeliac friend of mine says that Asda are the best supermarket for GF foods. The nearest one is in Berwick.

Thank you very much everyone - really useful tips. I'll make a note of all these places.

Perhaps Morrisons varies from branch to branch - our local one wasn't good, but it is quite a small one, so perhaps that's why.
