Hi again

I used to buy some from a farm which made these to order but they're very expensive and as I had to buy in bulk I didn't have the room in the freezer to store them.

We used to buy Helen Brownings speedy sausages but these were really expensive for the few and not always easy to get hold of.

Quite a few of the GF ones have either Pea flour, Soya flour or Ginger in them.

Does anyone know of any that might be ok for DD and also not too expensive ?

Many Thanks in advance.

I can't help with any specifics i'm afraid but have you tried your local butchers?

freefrommum · 19/06/2012 15:17

What about Debbie and Andrew's Harrowgate sausages? They don't contain soya or legumes etc but do say 'spices' so not sure if this includes ginger.

Co op sausages cannot remember off the top of my head but they are safe for my charge nuts egg wheat and dairy.
Our local butcher will make them as well.

Not sure about other ingredients but 'high end' sausages tend to be mainly pork and not much else (therefore no dairy, wheat, soya issues). We use Debbie & Andrews (already mentioned) The Black Farmer, Jamie Oliver, Jimmy's Farm, and Rankin's - all available in supermarkets around our way.

And some of the M&S ones... some of the gluten-free ones have pea flour in them, but not all! (e.g. the Cumberland, Lincolnshire and pork chipolatas are ok). Not sure about ginger, though, as don't have a packet to check...
Also Waitrose sell one gluten-free pack which doesn't contain pea flour, but again I don't know about the ginger.

Thanks for the tips everyone.

Ocado had some of the Helen Brownings ones on offer so I've just got a few packs of those.

I'll have a look at all the suggestions. I have a feeling that the waitrose GF sausages do have ginger in them.

I read so many labels I get a bit confused by what contains what Blush

Also, I find myself doing that thing that older people do of moving things back and forth until I can focus on the writing. Why are the ingredients lists is such small writing. I'm sure in the last few years all this reading labels has really had a negative effect on my eyes. Confused

Anyway, sorry for the rant. Thanks again everyone for the pointers.
Thanks
