Another reaction :(

Hello

Feeling a bit well knocked down really. :( DD went to bed fine, but couldn't sleep. DP was with her and came down about 45 minutes ago to say she has a puffy eye.
DD said that she was also wheezy but I couldn't hear anything. Her eye is all puffy and looks slighty dark underneath. I've pulled my shoulder and the weather was very wet so we haven't been out today, so I have no idea what could have caused it.

DP reads DC a book before bedtime so not sure if it could be something he brought in on his clothes. He said he's had an itchy red eye all day, and since he got home, I've had a funny hot watery eye, even though I've had a shower so I'm assuming it's something to do with hayfever.

It's been wet all day but did get sunny after about 6.30.

I hate these random reactions as they always leave me feeling like we've done something wrong or that this whole allergy thing will never get any better. I feel so bad for my DD. SHe was keen to try some new doves biscuits tomorrow but now I'll have to wait a few days to make sure this current reaction has cleared.

I know I need to remember that it's only a puffy eye but I feel like i want to cry!:(

Dont be sad! Although I know just how you feel, DP came home the other day he must have have something in his top, every time he picked ds up hec break out in hives.

And another time one of his eye lids swelled up. For no clear reason. Just puffed up.

I try not to let it get me down now, it happens too often. Weekly usually, and ds never notices or seems bothered (unless its a serious reaction).

Dont let something that is totally beyond your control, get you down. You cant protect her from everything, no one can. And she'll always be ok.

Thanks Bucket. I'm sorry to hear your DS has these random reactions so often. DD seems to have been ok recently but in the last week she's had a couple :(

You're right. there's no point in getting so stressed about something that seems to be out of our control.

I just sometimes feel like these 'random' reactions are just so unfair.

DD is allergic to wheat, eggs, nuts, legumes, sesame, rapeseed oil, ginger, oats and probably other stuff like celery. I spend SO much time making sure she is safe that any reaction always knocks me for 6.

She also starts f/t school in September and I guess I worry how she;ll be in that situation and how the staff will be with her. Her current nursery haven't been great so that's been a real eye opener unfortunately.

Anyway, thanks for your kind words.
take care
