Neocate LCP; how much p/day?

Ds seems to be doing ok on this (phew). The tin gives guidelines for up to 10 mths as 5 feeds of 8 fl oz each. This seems an awful lot to me but I've not used formula before.

Should I be trying to get 40 fl oz into him p/day? He sleeps all night so no night feed and he eats fairly well, though no dairy, soya, beans or peas.

(Or perhaps I am reading the tin wrong?!)

what age is he? I'd give him as much as he wants without trying to get him to finish a bottle if he doesnt want it. From 6 months a minimum of 20oz is recommended but it is ok if they take a bit more than that.

He is almost 11mths and big. So does 40fl oz sound right at this age? I wondered if it was because they need larger amounts of neocate for some reason?

40oz sounds a lot especially if they are having solids too. By that age ds only had 2 feeds per day (although he wasnt dairy allergic). How much is he taking?

I thought so. He seems to be having around 20fl oz p/day. I just wondered if it's because children on it (presumably) will not be eating any dairy. Can't imagine getting that much into him every day though!

Pepti junior tins advise 3 x 7oz bottles per day for 7-12 months of age. Ds is 9 months and has 7oz mid morning and afternoon, and 9oz at bedtime.

Thanks, I expect it's fine then. It's just a guide so they probably over estimate as they don't want children restricted as to how much they're given perhaps.
